BANGALORE RACES 14.012.2013

An avoidable race as almost all the runners seem to be below average and betting in this kind of a race is I feel is fraught with risks.

Spanish Fly is well bred and into its second run of its career today. It has had a good spurt and a good gate practice and is being ridden by the champion himself. Dance With Me and Taylor Made might fight for the minor placings.

Ethopian is cut above and should not loose.

Spirit of Chartwell and Vigorous, both last start winners should fight it out, with Vigorous appears to have an edge.

Sun Kingdom, Camorra, Auburn Beauty and Ratham are the main contenders here. An avoidable race.

Nessie and Sans Frontiers will fight it out and the running of the race and a little bit of luck will decide the winner.

Southern Emperor is the highest rated with Turf Striker the second highest. Both of them met in the mysore derby and Turf Striker was beaten squarely by Southern Emperor. Now, lets come to Sovereign Rule, who only  in its second career start has beaten Southern Emperor quite easily and then won its next start much more easily. Mark my words, you will never get such good odds for Sovereign Rule again.  Make a good bet on it.

An avoidable race. However, if I have to select a horse here, I will go for Jeyem as it has come down to this class after 9 months and its last victory in this class was very authentic. However, as a betting prospective I will stay away.

Rulers secret looks the best of the lot, but, an avoidable race as far as the betting prospective goes.

KOLKOTTA RACES 14.12.2013

River Pride, Ace of Base and Combined Operation are the main contenders here. Combined Operation last won on March 12 of this year in a 2000 meters race at a rating of 39 and was penalized 8 points for that effort and had gone up to 47. It has been very cleverly brought down to a rating of 26 and taking part in a 2000 meters race. During the last win the jockey Imran Chisty had also reported that his saddle had slipped during the running. It still won quite decisively. Therefore it becomes my first choice. However, as it is rated at 26 the trainer has the option to run in the lower class of 0-26 also. Still, I will go ahead with a bet on Combined Operation and pray it is a jobber.

Noble and Nice's last run has to be taken with a pinch of salt and is to be ignored and given another chance today. It looks cut above of this bunch and should win.

Flash, Petaloid, Songwriter and Scooby Doo are thr main contenders here and if I have to pick one then I will pick Scooby Doo for the reason that it is a youngster and has had only three runs in its career with the third and latest one being after a gap of 10 months.

Iverness has won 5 of its 9 career starts the last two being in the new ownership. I feel that it will be its sixth win on his tenth start.

On its last start effort Treasure Island should not find it difficult to win in this set here. Let us not forget the very impressive mock race it had before its run.

Dandified, Ocean and Beyond (jockey mahesh?) Machiavelliianism and Snowdrift (purely on handicap) are the main contenders. An avoidable race for a betting prospective.

Adabella looks cut above except for the choice of the jockey that is Neeraj Rawal because the stable has a choice of Shailesh Shinde also.

PUNE RACES 12.12.2013

Taj e Shahi, Ancient Odyssey and Polar Zone look to be the main contenders here. Ancient OIdyssey has won well last time (in this season) and with a positive switch of jockey from Neeraj Rawal to the champion himself that is Sandesh, automatically becomes the first choice. However, it has to be remembered that in less than a years time Taj E Shahi, after winning a race at a rating of 23, today runs at 21. Polar Zone is at a very low mark and is being entrusted to Dasrath Singh.

Gerome looks too good for this bunch and should not loose.

Shishya, Arzaan and Ricochet are the main contenders here, and the better riding of Jimmy Fortune might tilt the scales in its favor.

The bit had slipped immediately after the start for Archie and jockey Zervan had no control of his mount. Archie should not loose tommorow.

Brindaban, Twilight, Quick Fire and Fontanelle should make the finish interesting. Brindaban had a very good forward run last time out. Quick Fire was ridden to the ground by Sandesh last time out and would have won if it was ridden in a little check last time out. Fontanelle is running after a gap of three months and Twilight is running after a gap of four months. Both of them might need this run. Hence, the choice is narrowed to Brindaban and Quick Fire and here again the better horsemanship of Jimmy Fortune might see the day for Quick Fire.

Moonraker is a half brother to Super Duper who has won 7 times out of its career thirteen starts and is running in the highest class. As  Moonraker has finally seen the winning post in its last run in Pune, it should win some more races and today it looks a bit above the opposition and should win.

Jockey B Sreekanth got away with a fine of Rs. 20,000 only and escaped suspension on Sombrero last time as he apologized for his mistake. The effort put in by him was very half hearted to say the least. Today, with an apprentice in the saddle it should run as he should and should win.

HYDERABAD RACES 09.12.2013

A very ordinary bunch of youngsters and Olympus looks the best of the lot.

Its touch and go between Go for Gold and Flames of Forest. The running of the race and a little bit of luck will decide the outcome of the race. Going for a quinella or a box forecast whichever is offering more is certainly advisable.

Crown Castle looks to be the best of the lost and if a jobber will not loose. Please wait for the odds and if a favorite have a good bet on it, else, ignore.

Golden Palace, Jabel Queen, Hometown Hero and Machine Gun are the runners who look to be in with a chance of  winning.

For Vijayshaurya the race looks to be sa good as over on paper, but, being a Monday (manic?) with all India betting I would advise you to be a bit wary.

Winjoy, Yet Again, Jaden Gill and Tejaswini are the runners who look to be in with a chance. Jaden Gills win was very impressive and Yet Agains mock race was very impressive. Hence, I feel that these two may end up fighting for the top slot.

Agostini, Czar of Romance, Dynamo, Fastest Finger and Silver Streak are the top contenders. But, out of these I personally feel that Agostini, although squarely beaten by Czar of Romance as a youngster, is the most improved animal of the lot and with luck favoring Mr. Vijay Mallya's stable and his first jockey Trevor
will win today.

The race will not go beyond Ponte Verdi and Lioness Heart and I personally would go for Lioness Heart as it looks to be better prepared with a mock race to boot.

HYDERABAD RACES 08.12.2013

Lumiere Blanche, Kallu Mama, Azaiba and Santa Monica are the main contenders here.

Dear Friend, Kohinoor Charm and Panachecorn may fight for honors.

Big Move and Energetic Lass will fight it out.

Al Sarrah is running in this category for the first time after 28 months, Its last two wins were achieved in the higher category. With some good trackwork to support Al Sarrah should win here.

Tricks of Gold looks the best horse here, but , the fact is that the trainer is suspended and whether the horse is a jobber or not is a question mark.

Mukhtar was badly chopped off by Indian Epic in its last run, though the objection was overruled. An interesting fact about Mukhtar is that it ran 19 times under trainer Habibullah and won only once. After it was shifted to trainer Anupam Sharma, it has run 16 times and has won 4 times.

Rio Rojo and Roma Rouge will fight it out.
